August 26, 2026 -- A Spalding County, Georgia jury acquitted a client of John Monroe Law, P.C. of all charges in a self defense case from 2024. After the alleged "victim" repeatedly committed traffic infractions to harass the client on the highway, the "victim" became increasingly aggressive. When the client managed to pull away, the "victim" chased him down, passed him, cut him off, and severely brake checked him, requiring him to swerve out of the away. As the client tried to drive away again, the "victim" accelerated to catch up with him. Becoming more frightened, the client displayed a firearm, hoping the "victim" would back off. She did not, but she did keep getting closer and closer to him. Finally, the client fired the gun once, into the ground and away from traffic. The client was charged with three counts of aggravated assault and three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He faced 75 years in prison.

After a three-day trial, the jury acquitted the client of all six counts. He went home for the first time in over two years.
