John Monroe Law Sues Athens-Clarke County For Open Records Violation

September 11, 2026 -- John Monroe Law, P.C. is suing Athens-Clarke County for denying an open records request, asking for the number of seized firearms the county has stockpiled. Georgia law requires counties to auction off its seized guns and not stockpile them. The County denied the request on the grounds that revealing the information could lead to terroristic acts against the County.
